Anyone who takes fishing trips to Alaska knows that they need a fishing trip checklist. After all, it’d be pretty terrible to show up to a vacation lodge and find that a ton of things were left hours away at home.
Rather than accidentally doing that, use this fishing trip checklist to make sure you’ve got everything you need.
The Legal Things.
First and foremost, you need to have all the legal documentation allowing you to fish taken care of and packed, so be sure to include it as the first thing to remember on your fishing trip checklist. Make sure you make a note to remember your fishing license and its applicable stamps, and your boating license if you’re going out on a watercraft. If you plan on going on private property, be sure to have written permission as well.
Your Gear.
How can you fish without fishing gear? Be sure to include on your fishing trip checklist your fishing pole, tackle box, and bait. In your tackle box, you should be sure to have bobbers, extra fishing line, fish stringers, hooks, jigs, leaders, lures, power bait, sinkers, and some weights. Also, don’t forget a map of where you plan on fishing.
General Items.
Lastly, you’ll need to bring along a ton of general items. Before you head out, make sure you have: scentless sunscreen, sunglasses, first aid kid, bug spray, portable GPS, compass, knife, needle nose pliers, hand sanitizer, camera, clean towels, water bottles, rope tape measurer, and some toilet paper.
Everyone who plans on taking Alaskan fishing trips would be wise to use a fishing trip checklist. Otherwise, they be in for an unwelcome surprise once they get to their fishing spot in the Last Frontier.
