The 2014 New York City Marathon became the largest marathon in history this past Sunday. The New York Road Runners announced that of the 50,869 that started the race, 50,564 crossed the finish line in Central Park, according to ESPN. People come from far and wide to run in this infamous race, and many more gather along the route to cheer these runners on. Just like any marathon, completing the NYC Marathon isn’t easy. It takes months of training to prepare for, and even more determination to finish. This is especially true when the weather isn’t great, and it wasn’t last Sunday.
